Training Tips
If you really want the best possible experience as you cycle from Cairns to Karumba, then some preparation on the bike is sure to have you ready for the adventure of a lifetime!
Whether you are planning to be a part of the road or dirt ride, nothing beats time in the saddle, clocking up the kilometres.
Below is a basic 10 week program that is designed to take a beginning rider from relatively short 20km rides to 100kms plus in preparation for C2K in June, 2012.

Remember, the above is simply a guide as all individuals preparation varies to some degree. Nothing is more satisfying than arriving on day 1 of the ride knowing that you've done the work required to get you through a week of cycling.

Training Rides
For those people who live locally (near Cairns) you may consider getting involved in a regular training ride to get used to riding in a pack. Options include;
- Fridays (06:00) Smithfield Mountain Bike tracks carpark. Intermediate to advanced mountain bike insanity before work.
- Saturdays (06:15) In front of Marlin Coast Sports, Sheridan St-Intermediate road riding.
- Saturdays (06:30) In front of Trinity Cycles, Aplin Street. Advanced road riding & pack riding.
- Sundays(06:30) In front of Sea Brease Café, Cairns Base Hospital, Cairns Esplanade, beginner to intermediate road riding.
