Cairns to Karumba Bike Ride
The difference between a support person and a volunteer
A support person assists a friend or family member each day of the ride. For example they help to transport gear, prepare camp sites and generally make sure that their rider has everything they need from start to finish.
As a supporter, you must register and pay online (as we require the details of all persons involved with the bike ride in any capacity) and there is a fundraising requirement.
Your registration includes:
As a support person you also have some time each day to check out local sites and attractions along the way. In fact in 2017 we will have Support Person’s Co-ordinator who will meet with you each evening at 5.30pm to point out all of the interesting spots to check out the next day – that way, you will have a great chance to see all that this beautiful region has to offer!
A volunteer is given a major area of responsibility each day of the ride. Their primary task is to fulfil this role for the benefit of all riders. Without the help of these people the ride simply could not take place. All volunteers must register online ($0 fee) prior to the close of registration.
