Tips for Personal Fundraising
The money raised by each rider and/or supporter of the Cairns to Karumba Bike Ride is a major component of the event each year. To make it easier for you to raise the necessary money we have put together a few ideas below:
- Use our online fundraising tool. Simply click ‘Fundraise Now’ and within 4 minutes you will have created a Hero Page that allows your friends, family and colleagues to support your ride. This really is the simplest form of raising funds available.
Top Tip: add a link to your Hero Page at the bottom of your email signature. This way, people learn informally what you are doing (a 780km ride!) - you will be amazed who supports you using this method. - Corporate Support. Ask your workplace to support your effort. Many companies and organisations are happy to support staff who are undertaking activities that positively impact on the community. Some will commit a set amount, other may match your fundraising efforts dollar for dollar.
- Mini-event. Stage a post training ride breakfast at your house, host a social sports event (tennis, golf ...) and charge people to be a part of the fun. Please note that events of this nature are undertaken at your own risk and the Milboe Ltd takes no responsibility for insurance etc.
- Set up a stall. Sell crafts items, sausages in bread or cupcakes at a local shopping centre with all proceeds supporting the fundraising component of your ride.
